Idéer och information i en trivsam parkmiljö
I Esbo finns Finlands största utställningspark för trädgårdsanläggning, den omfattar 8 hektar. Parken lockas årligen cirka 100 000 besökare. De bekanta sig med de praktfulla planteringarna, de intressanta trädarterna samt med olika lösningar gällande ytor och konstruktioner.
Margretebergsparken grundades år 1997 på den historiska Margretebergs Gårds marker, invid svenskspråkiga Överby trädgårdsskola (numera Axxell, Överby). Vid grundandet av parken var Överby trädgårdsskola en viktig aktör tillsammans med Grönmiljöförbundet.
I parken finns de viktigaste trädgårdsprodukterna till påseende
I Margretebergsparken presenterar de viktigaste plantskolorna samt producenterna och importörerna av trädgårdsprodukter sitt urval.
På avdelningarna är det lätt att jämföra till exempel stenläggningar och olika stenläggningsmönster samt olika sätt att kombinera växter till intressanta helheter. I parken finns också exempel på de konstruktioner som kan behövas i en trädgård, så som växthus, inglasade sommarrum, staket och sopskjul.
I Margretebergsparken ordnas årligen flera olika evenemang: På våren och hösten ordnas trädgårdsdagar med försäljning, rådgivning och annat trevligt. I augusti deltar parken i firandet av Esbodagen. De allmänna områdena och det restaurerade fårhuset hyrs även ut för olika tillställningar och evenemang.
Margretebergsparken är öppen varje dag. Ingen inträdesavgift.
Det är möjligt för utomstående att ordna olika evenemang, fester eller reklamfotograferingar mot ersättning. Kontakta då verksamhetsledaren.
